The Whitchurch Town Council is made up of 15 elected town councillors, who in turn elect a mayor and deputy mayor to lead them. They look after the direct interests of the town and work closely with the larger North Shropshire District Council and Shropshire County Council in order to serve the needs of the people of Whitchurch.

The town council conducts its work as four principal committees:
